Who we are
Environmental scientists and technologists, working as one team.
Advanced Technology and Environment Research Nepal brings together researchers trained in environmental science, human geography and mountain hazards with engineers in cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
ATERN’s environmental researchers have prepared impact assessments, supervised safeguards on national highways and hydropower dams, and published peer-reviewed work on glacial lakes, watersheds, wildlife habitat and climate in the Himalaya.
Our technology team brings cloud computing, machine learning and software engineering to that work, from processing satellite imagery at scale to building the platforms clients use every day.
Together we help government agencies, development partners, researchers and companies understand environmental risk and act on it.
